The Fender HiMass 4-String Bass Bridge (Brass Saddles) is a replacement bridge for 4-string electric basses from Fender. Equipped with Brass string riders, it strengthens sustain, tuning stability and at the same time lets the attack stand out more prominently.
Please Note: Mounting hardware is not included as standard with the HiMass Bass assembly. The screws recommended by Fender are the 0021422049 Bass/Telecaster Bridge/Strap Button Mounting Screws.
The main features of the Fender HiMass 4-String Bass Bridge (Brass Saddles) include:
It's amazing that even most premium Fender bass guitars still come with the standard barrel-style bridge designed by Leo Fender in the 1950s. This HiMass bridge is, in my opinion, the single best upgrade anyone can make - all the more so considering its incredibly low price here in Music Store. It has a much higher mass than the stock bridge, which genuinely increases sustain and tone significantly. And in my opinion, it also looks a whole lot better than the stock bridge. It's a ridiculously easy upgrade to carry out as well: once the stock bridge is unscrewed and removed from the body, the HiMass bridge screws directly into the very same five screw holes. If you own a Fender bass with a stock barrel bridge (and as I say, if you do own a Fender bass, it probably does have that stock barrel bridge), then you really ought to buy this HiMass bridge and give yourself a considerable upgrade!
Really good quality bridge, was a direct replacement for a Squier VM Precision, it's solid as a rock and looks great. Not sure if it's made a great deal of difference to the sound as I took of roundwounds and replaced them with flats when I put the new bridge on, but it sounds excellent
I bought this as an upgrade to the stock bridge on my MIM Jazz bass. It feels much better to the touch, with no jagged edges like the stock bridges have. There's a noticeable improvement in tone and attack. It's also allowed me to set the action nice and low so playability is better too. 100% would recommend
