Brit-pop vintage feeling with the Johnny Marr Jaguar
With The Smiths, British guitarist Johnny Marr shaped the Brit pop scene like no other in the 1980s and always relied on guitars from Fender. Reason enough for the traditional American manufacturer to present the FenderJohnny MarrJaguar RW Olympic White, a Signature instrument for the guitar hero from Manchester. The iconic Jaguar conveys a unique sound and revives the formative spirit of early indie and Brit rock. With an alder body and bolt-on maple neck, the Johnny Marr Signature offers a robust construction and is complemented by a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with a 7.25" fretboard radius that follows the original vintage design of the 60s. The Costum-Wound Bare Knuckle Johnny Marr single coils also deliver the typical Jaguar sound and are characterized in particular by their present trebles and a bright tone. This gives the Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar a versatile sound character and leaves nothing to be desired in terms of sound quality and vintage feel.
The Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar RW Olympic White delivers first-class sounds between alternative and pop with two bare knuckle single coil pickups.
Authentic reproduction of Johnny Marr's '65 Jaguar
The original '65 Jaguar by The Smiths guitarist served as the model for Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar RW Olympic White. Accordingly, his Signature model has an alder body and a bolt-on maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, which are wrapped in a classic nitrocellulose finish. With the precisely modeled neck profile and the short 24" scale length, this unique Jaguar furthermore offers butter-smooth playability.
Bare Knuckle Single Coils
Two hand-wound Bare Knuckle Custom Wound single coils are used as pickups on the Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar RW Olympic White. With their characteristic serrated metal surrounds, these pickups deliver a distinctive sound that is the perfect basis for pop and alternative sounds. The pickups can be selected in different configurations via the 4-way switch, while two bright switches in the upper body horn significantly expand the sound image.
Vintage tremolo
Another highlight of the Johnny Marr Jaguar is the tremolo system, which brings the unique vintage character of the old school. The Jaguar bridge with Mustang tailpiece is stabilized by a nylon bridge pin, while the floating tremolo guarantees an unmistakable playing feel. The extendedtremolo arm is also completed by a nylon insert and prevents unwanted vibrations.

Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar Electric Gu itar, Olympic White
Wonderful guitar. Straight out of the box, it requires a quick tune up, and I recorded with it. It was shipped from the warehouse in Germany, so very surprised it settled down so quickly! I found the neck very comfortable immediately.and the tones are varied and very usable. A recommended purchase, although slightly more expensive than a standard jaguar. I have a custom shop telecaster and it matches it’s playability. Very similar necks. I hope this helps on deciding wether to purchase one yourself. Enjoy!
A very nice guitar indeed. Looks lovely. Not set up very well but easily fixed, however considering the price.... The short scale suits my little fingers. The pickups are great, very musical sounding. A little fret buzz at the business end, but this may be improved by fitting 11’s if your a bit of a thrasher. It’s great at what it does and cuts through the mix very well. It’s the best Jaguar I have played so far.
It’s a lot to pay for a niche guitar and I don’t think it will hold its value as well as a more mainstream alternative, but it’s a great addition to the standards. Works very well with my Princeton amp and Timmy clone pedal.
