The Fieldfare Audio Revolt Overdrive is a refreshing new take on the bright green overdrive classic and impresses with its particularly transparent soft clipping. Like the original, the effect pedal from the young pedal manufacturer from the Rhineland presents itself as a famous all-purpose weapon that can be used for everything from creamy Blues crunch to thickening juicy high-gain sounds. The Revolt remains true to the classic three-knob layout of the original with controls for level, gain and Tone and also offers some interesting additional options: 'Hi-Cut' can be used to tame overly harsh highs if required, while 'Lo-Push' influences the bass range of the pedal. There is also an open/compress button for switching the internal voltage from 9 V to 18 V for additional Clean headroom. Last but not least, the relay-based intelligent True Bypass Switch (RITB) offers practical features such as a 'Momentary' function and easier integration into loop switcher systems.
