It is simply attached between the bridge and the tailpiece, and its mass dampens the vibrating part of the string behind the bridge. The Gewa wolftöter is made of chrome-plated metal with additional felt padding to protect the string and has a fixing screw to secure the wolftöter in its position on the string.
