Thunderbird in set-neck construction
Like the model from the late sixties, the Non-Reverse Thunderbird Sparkling Burgundy comes in classic set-neck construction with a long 34" scale length (864 mm), which promises a mighty sound with a long sustain. For the set neck and the body, Gibson uses mahogany, while the 22 fret fretboard is made of rosewood. The not too thick rounded profile also promises the best playing characteristics for comfortable grooving.
Rich sound, first-class hardware
The Non-Reverse Thunderbird's bass amp features two soapbar pickups for a characterful Bass sound that ranges from the wiry, articulate tone of the Thunder Bird Lead pickup at the bridge to the pithy low end of the Thunderbird Rhythm pickup placed in the middle position. For precise tuning, the Non-Reverse Thunderbird's classic passive circuitry features two volume knobs and a treble slider. While the 3-Point Adjustable Bridge guarantees an exact adjustment of intonation and string action, at the headstock of the bass guitar lightweight Hipshot Ultralite tuners provide not only a stable tuning but also an extremely reduced neck dive.
