The Ibanez Standard RGA42FM-BLF Blue Lagoon Flat is a six-string model and is part of the most recognisable range from this iconic manufacturer. The Ibanez RGA is a solid body built to handle heavy, physically demanding music with a sleekly sculpted top offering unrestricted playability for full-thottle power chording or heavy riffing. An iconic Wizard III neck is crafted from maple and offers unlimited playability for demanding players across a two-octave 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with a wide tonal range and jumbo frets.
Equipped with two Quantum humbucker pickups, the Standard RGA42FM offers an accelerated bass response for fast tracking of high-speed staccato riffing with crushing mid-range and a precise high-end articulation when combined with built-in 5-way pickup switch. A fixed bridge provides the player with solid intonation and sustain. A Blue Lagoon Burst Flat finish completes this electric guitar.
The guitar is well built as expected from Ibanez, i tried a few models and decided on an RGA, mostly because i like the arch top, i dont like the hard edges of the RG models and while the body shape of the S series fits me well and the hardwars is much the same , the S series guitars are super thin.....
This particular guitar i had to return as there is a tiny dent on the neck by the first fret but there models are mass produced so somtimes a few small imperfections slip through the net.....
i must say the guitar was very well 'set up' and played great out of the box.
To be honest i have not plugged it into an amp as i am returning it so didn't wan't to remove the plastic covering the pickups so i cannot review the sound but i gave 5 stars anyway because it's an Ibanez!
There is one small 'smudge' on the front so i gave 4 stars for 'optic'....
The guitar is well made and other than the tiny dent on the neck
