VRS8 Thunderbolt Audio Interface
Slate Digital delivers the VRS8, a Thunderbolt audio interface with eight Ultra Linear VMS One microphone preamps that allow slate microphone and preamp emulations to be used on each input. The integrated LLN (Low Latency Native) hard-wired converter chipset impresses with 0.7 milliseconds latency at 96k (32 sample buffers), while "real-time auditioning" with effects is possible at any time. Combined with AKM mastering-quality converters, 124dB dynamic range on all inputs, XTC clocking technology including four temperature-compensated crystal oscillators, and Native MIDI I/O for accurate MIDI timing, the VRS8 is a high-quality audio interface at an affordable price. Furthermore, a permanent license for Slate's Virtual Preamp Collection software is provided, allowing you to integrate various software preamps. Also on board is a 1-year license for the Everything Bundle to test Slate's plugins extensively. The already professional overall picture is rounded off by the intuitive design, two headphone outputs and the practical 19" housing for rack applications.
The ML-1 microphone is the heart of the virtual microphone system. This large-diaphragm microphone features a shock-mounted, gold-coated 6-micron capsule and a state-of-the-art FET circuit path that provides a linear, flat, and clean output for emulations . Combined with Slate Digital tube microphone modeling software, it can sound like some of the most classic microphones in recording history.
