Softube's Tape Plug-in emulates 3 different tape machines, which can be applied to your own mix in the form of a tape simulation. The 3 included models are divided into type A, B and C and represent very different belt machines. Type A is based on a classic Swedish high-end tape machine, which generates a very precise and linear sound. Also included is the Type B model, which simulates a transformer-based tape recorder and gives the mix a lot of color and low-end sound. Finally, the Type C model is based on a British tape machine model with a distinctive vintage sound. All in all, the 3 models offer very different belt machines, all of which express their personal touch. Tape can also be integrated into any DAW as a plug-in and offers the user many modifiable parameters.
More features with Studio One
If Softube Tape is used as a plug-in with the PreSonus Studio OneDAW is used, tape can be added to the MixFX slot. This means that the tape window simply nestles into the one-window overall concept of the PreSonus DAW software, but also gives the user access to Tape Multitrack. With Tape Multitrack you can create individual channel crosstalks.
