The Fame Challenger 10A DSP is the smallest, most compact and lightest model in the Challenger DSP series. The 2-way active speaker is equipped with a 10" woofer with 2" voice coil and a 1" compression driver. In combination with the powerful Class-D + Class-AB power amplifier, an RMS output of 250 watts is achieved. The frequency range reaches from 58 to 19,000 Hz. Despite the compact dimensions the speaker reaches a maximum sound pressure level of 130 dB. The dispersion is 90° horizontal and 60° vertical.

Structure and inputs
Since its introduction, the Challenger series from Fame has stood for high-performance components, professional features and maximum mobility. The new Challenger DSP Series powered loudspeakers are also equipped with a digital signal processor (DSP) that offers a choice of four presets to tailor the sound to any situation. Two XLR/jack combo jacks allow the use of line signals as well as direct operation with a dynamic microphone. The XLR output allows the sum signal to be played out to another speaker.
Application
The Fame Challenger 10A DSP can be used standing up or, thanks to the specially angled housing shape, lying down, which means that the speaker can also be used as a floor monitor. The robust and rugged plastic cabinet withstands the rigours of stage use without any problems and, thanks to its modern lightweight construction, predestines the loudspeaker in particular as a multifunctional solution for mobile use. Thanks to the integrated 35mm flange insert, the speaker can also be mounted on a conventional speaker stand.

We bought one of these in March 2022 for a small tour in Germany. It was great for the gigs we had planned. We used it again in August at an outdoor concert and were a little worried it wouldn't be powerful enough, but it really held its own. Not at a loud volume, but 100 people in a beer garden could comfortably hear us with only the corners missing out. But that was due to only have one speaker.
