So the M-Audio 192/6 is very much in the somewhat saturated home audio/semi pro market of audio interfaces so it has a lot to contend with, that said it is a lovely bit of kit. A very sleek and compact machine that fits perfectly on my desktop, nicely weighted and feels pricier than it is.
I tested this with my Blue Encore 200 active mic. The sound was excellent and the pre-amps are very quite and better than my old Focusrite Pro 24, which I thought was good until I got this.
I have a midi keyboard which I plug in via the midi inputs on the rear which is ideal for my setup. I really like the USB/Direct knob for getting the mix between vocal and music just right for recording. It has 2 accessible line in’s at the front for guitars and 2 mic in’s on the rear, a phantom power switch at the front next to the headphone socket. I really love the monitor level knob which adjusts the output volume, it’s so smooth to turn.
I really do like this interface and the best deal I got was very competitively priced.
Music, don’t you just love it!
