High-quality Mapex Maple shell set with SONIClear features
The Mapex MM628SFUKD Mars Maple Stage+ Shell Set matte black is a shell set made of 100% maple with SONIClear shell burrs. The Mars Maple series offers high-quality maple shells with a short tone and lots of projection as well as balanced bass. The shells consist of six plies with a thickness of 7.2 mm. Unwanted overtones are naturally reduced by the wood, and the shells also offer ideal tuning characteristics in all situations. The SONIClear Tom suspension increases the resonance of the shells by allowing them to vibrate completely freely. In combination with the Remo heads, which are supplied as standard, the result is a professional sound that is suitable for the stage. The Mapex Mars drum kit is visually rounded off by the lacquered finish and the chrome-plated hardware.
SONIClear bowl burr on the Mars series
One of the professional aspects is the SONIClear boiler burr. The strongly rounded edges increase the contact surface on the shell. The increased contact results in a stronger transfer of force from the head to the shell, which emphasizes the powerful and deep basic tone of the Mars drum shells. Last but not least, the shape of the shell ridge makes it easier to tune the Mars drums, especially at low frequencies.
