Very pleased with this purchase. Playing for pleasure as a solo amateur, but wanted a top instrument in case I join a group in future. The sound is beautiful as all the reviews I read described
I bought this recorder as a treat for myself during Lockdown. I am absolutely delighted with it. Although, as instructed, I am only playing it for five minutes a day, I can tell already that the low notes have a beautiful, resonant, rounded sound and I have no doubt that the higher register will be the same. Not only do I appreciate its musical qualities, but aesthetically, it is a joy to behold (and this includes the box!). I very much look forward to playing it for longer periods of time once it is fully broken in.
I'm still breaking this recorder in so early days yet, but first impressions are:
1. Very nicely made. Similar finish to my wife's Kung. Matt clear varnish of some sort
2. the pieces fit together well and are tight fitting
3. The tone is nicely rounded even at this early stage
4. It was out of stock when I ordered it, but it cam a week before the expected delivery date. Well done Music Store
Overall really very pleased with the service and the instrument.
A really nice and affordable recorder for experienced and those with good proficiency. Pearwood offers both the crispness of hard woods but also the softness of softer woods such as maple. It's light, well crafted and sits easily in the hands. I shall be enjoying this recorder for some years to come!
