The Orange Thunder 30 guitar amplifier head is a new 30-watt 2-channel head by Orange that is cross between the old Rocker 30 and the Thunderverb amps. The Thunder 30 is loaded with EL84 valves to provide 30-Watts of all-valve power. As you would expect from orange, everything is super-solid, from the sturdy housing to the switches and knobs. Offering Clean and Dirty channels, each with their own volume and tone controls, the Orange Thunder 30 is a great addition to the Orange range of amps.
The Orange Thunder 30 Features Include:
good sounding amp. can deliver sounds from sparkle clean to hi gain roar. Origibal "Orange" sond character, even its made in PRC. Craftmanship is a bit messy. Not thet good tolex quality. Some 0.5cm spaces between faceplate and amp sleave. But all in all its a good amp. Price is very very reasonable and attractive for such sound and features!
Compared with the combo, this monster becomes a little weak, when you combine it with 4 x 12speakers, the clean channel remains fat an rich, like a rockerverb, BUT, the lead channel loses, mids and bass, best match is 4 x 10speacers, but orange products do not launch one, if you are willing to use only the clean one and boost it with distortion pedals its ok, also the fx loop is something very useful, but you have to stay at 1 or 2 speakers cabinet. Compared with dual terror its a dilemma, cause dual does not have an fx loop, but dirty channel is as good as clean, more overdriven, so if you are lookin something for dry distortion sound, but not for a huge space this is it, its a very good option for beginners, but a little high on price
