The Sequential Pro 3 is a 37-key keyboard synthesizer with a hybrid structure. As the successor of the popular Pro2 synthesizer, the Sequential Pro 3 is located in the flexibility range of a medium modular system. The instrument can be played either monophonic or three-voice paraphonic.
Two analog oscillators known from the Prophet-6 and OB-6, a wavetable oscillator that accommodates 32 wavetables of 16 waveforms each including wave morphing and a noise generator form the basic framework for a rich and flexible sound. The Sequential Pro 3 draws from the full range and shines with three selectable analog filter classics (Prophet-6, OB-6 and Moog) to process the elaborately created basic sound. Both Prophet-6 and Moog filters are resonant and distinguishable from each other in terms of character. The OB-6 filter is a real state-variable filter and can be faded from lowpass to notch to highpass, alternatively the bandpass can be activated. The selected filter is further enhanced with its own drive parameter. Likewise, the signal path includes a dual effect block that generates delay, reverb, chorus and phaser, among others. In addition, the Pro 3 offers an analog distortion of the somewhat more violent kind and a tunable(!) Feedback Line.
No less than three synchronizable LFOs, each with five waveforms, and four loop-capable envelopes, give the sounds in Sequential Pro 3 the necessary movement. Thanks to the extensive modulation matrix, which includes a whole 32 entries, LFOs, envelopes, touchstrip, sequencer and various controllers can be placed on almost any parameter. In this way, despite a fixed signal path, the Pro 3 achieves a flexibility in modulations that could otherwise only be found in a modular system. Of course, a sequencer with 16 tracks is also on board, which can automate not only notes but also all parameters. In addition, you can save four patterns per sound, or create a longer one with up to 64 steps. Various playback directions and trigger modes complete the possibilities of the Sequential Pro 3. Alternatively to the sequencer, an equally extensively equipped arpeggiator can be used.
With OS 1.2, patch morphing has found its way into the Pro 3 (SE). Now it is possible to crossfade between two stored sounds. If the sounds are similar, e.g. because you are working with two smacking basses, the result is easily predictable. The more different the sounds used, the more surprising or extreme the sonic change.
The PRO 3 is a such modern synth!!.you can get very nice harmonics with tuning the feedback knobs,32 types of wavetable osc, and the modulattion is almost endless.you can get very deferent sound..from warm fat bass up to harsh metalic sounds near to fm territory or both!
i believe the standar version look is more suitable to the sound of this synth, modern industrial cyberpunk design. The se version is more
refers to classic analog sound.
This is a top class synth will definitely become a future classic, I can’t say enough good about it. Sound, operation, fx, killer sequencer too unbelievably good especially at this price point.
