The Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro Slash APH-2 Electric Guitar Humbucker Pickup Set is a signature Slash electric guitar humbucker pickup set, featuring Alnico II magnets, with a single conductor cable, and long leg, and zebra coils. Like the standard APH-1 Alnico II Pro, this pickup uses an Alnico 2 magnet. However, the Slash model is wound with just enough boosted output to push a stock Les Paul toward the sweet sustain and rude crunch that characterizes Slash's sound as heard on hundreds of tracks. In addition, it comes with some of the same appointments found on the Seymour Duncan pickups in Slash's '86 recording axe, including single-conductor cable, long-legged bottom plate, and wooden spacer. For the true fan, or the player who wants to capture Slash's recorded tone, this pickup is a critical part of the tone chain. This is same pickup found in the newest Gibson Slash model Les Paul.

Good Quality, very good sound. I put these in my 02 Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top Pro, really a great sounding set! They have that rude and nasty sound. Easy to install, just followed the schematic. Good Price! Theyre great pickups will improve sound
I went for these pickups because of their reputation for a good balance between a good vintage PAF sound and a modern rock tone.
It turns out that, in conjunction with the guitar knobs, it can do just about everything. And it does it really well! Excellent clean tones, from mellow and warm jazz to sparkly shimy cleans. The outputs of the set are really well balanced, and provide for more timbres. The output of the pickups drive an amp with no troubles whatsoever, all the way up to heavy metal (not an EMG sound, btw).
These pickups are mid focused, so they retain a lot of clarity, even under heavy distortion. The only gripe is that they don't come with a 4 wire option.
I'm very happy with this purchase.
