With Mod Medusa Shakmat Modular presents a fourfold LFO with special sync options. Primarily, Mod Medusa generates four LFO waveforms based on the incoming clock or tapped tempo along with clock divider. The Shape parameter continuously morphs the waveform, scanning from a sigmoidal to an exponential, logarithmic, linear, and sine wave. Symmetry is used to control the rise and fall time of the generated waveforms.
But that's not all, the generated waveforms can be sequenced and placed in grids. The algorithms have a length of up to 16 steps straight and Euclidean modes as well as fills and accelerando patterns. Within these sequences triggers are generated, which are adjustable in their density and frequency. The triggers cause a reset of the respective waveform to the zero crossing. In addition, it is definable whether the waveform is output bipolar or unipolar, which also affects the reset behavior.
Additionally there are four output modes Main, Compute, Random and Phase, which correlate the four CV outputs. This allows even more complex modulations, especially when using all four outputs in Patch. One of the four outputs can be assigned to the internal VCA, so that the LFO cycle eg. can be dosed by means of envelope or velocity. The addressable gate input offers a total of eight modes that create different ratchet, track & hold or one-shot variations.
