Behringer's Studio L is a convenient and feature-packed monitorcontroller that doubles as a USBaudio interface. You get an all-in-one package that includes a mastervolumecontroller, sourceselector, monitorswitcher, and talkbox that helps you work more efficiently and create professional quality audiorecordings.
Monitor Controller & Audio Interface combined
Starting with the use of the Studio L as a monitor controller, you get typical functions like mono, mute and dim, as well as an accurate level meter and large, quickly accessible volume control. Furthermore, you can connect up to two pairs of monitors to perform A/B comparisons of your audio mix or to test speakers.
The special feature here is that the controller can be easily connected to your computer via USB cable and you get a powerful audio interface for recording your instruments and vocals!
On board are two combo jacks including Midas Preamps and phantom power (+48V), as well as two line inputs and a stereo input (mini-jack) for additional signals. The latter is particularly well suited for smartphones or music players as feeds. The two independent headphone amplifiers are also practical if you do not work alone or have different headphone models.
Recording is done at a maximum resolution of 192 kHz and 24-bit - enough to be able to work professionally and be prepared for any kind of project. No matter if you are a hobby or studio musician, composer, sound designer or producer: here everyone will get his money's worth.
Even direct monitoring without audible latency has been thought of to get the best out of every musician. Simply crossfade between input signals and cue Mix sources and create your own headphones Mix while recording.
VCA - Not just a volume control
While many manufacturers rely on cheap potentiometers, Behringer's Studio L uses Voltage Controlled Amplifier technology. Here, the signal is not simply routed directly through the volume potentiometer, but controlled by a separate, high-precision amplifier circuit. The result is perfect stereo and phase coherence, precise level adjustment, and accurate sound with no loss of quality over time.
