With the 2028 supercardioid vocal microphone, DPA presents a new addition to its microphone portfolio. The DPA 2028 offers the proven natural sound of DPA, which makes voices shine. It is particularly suitable for singers and is ideal for live, broadcast and Pro-AV applications. The 2028 supercardioid vocal microphone with SL1 adapter is the wireless version for Shure, Sony and Lectrosonics transmitter systems (SL1 interface).
On the live stage, the DPA 2028 delivers the same open and transparent sound as other DPA microphones. In fact, it requires no (or very little) EQ to sound as if you were standing right next to the singer and listening to his performance. This allows the singer to use his voice as if he were not using a microphone at all, which puts less strain on him.
The 2028 was designed to deliver the same excellent sound as the flagship d:facto™ model. It has a newly developed, non-replaceable capsule as well as a specially developed shockmount and pop filter.
The microphone has a fixed polar pattern. This is a modified supercardioid with the uniform off-axis behaviour for which DPA is known. This gives the microphone a very high gain before feedback and makes it easier to handle crosstalk from other instruments in the immediate vicinity, as the sound is recorded unaltered.
Due to the expected wear during live performances, both the outer basket and the inner pop filter of the 2028 can be removed and cleaned.
