900 watt bass amplifier with graphic EQ, Alpha ∙ Omega distortion and extensive connections, including foot switch
The Darkglass Electronics Alpha ∙ Omega 900 Centurion Limited Edition comes with a beautiful artwork by Ignacio Bazán and combines the sound variety of the most popular Darkglass distortion pedal with a 900 Watt power amp to the ideal bass amplifier for the Hard'n'Heavy fraction. Based on a completely analogue circuit, this bass amp features a clean section with a graphic 6-band equalizer, preceded by the Alpha Omega engine with two distinctive drive voicings. Additionally there is an integrated one-knob compressor. With 900 watts, the output stage designed in modern Class D technology furthermore promises maximum volume reserves for use on stage or in the rehearsal room. With an extensive range of connection peripherals, including balanced pre- and post-DI outputs and a headphone jack as well as MIDI, the Darkglass Alpha Omega 900 is ideally equipped for the recording studio.
The Darkglass Alpha Omega 900 bass amplifier comes with integrated Alpha Omega distortion and graphic 6-band EQ for particularly versatile bass sounds.
Clean section with 6-band equalizer
The completely analogue preamp of the Darkglass Alpha ∙ Omega 900 features a clean section, whose extremely transparent sound guarantees an unaltered output of the instrument used and the playing technique. The graphic 6-band equalizer allows for extremely precise sound adjustment, whereas the integrated compressor with straightforward one-knob control guarantees a smooth and rich sound experience.
Alpha ∙ Omega engine for variable distortion
The sonic heart of the Darkglass Alpha ∙ Omega is undoubtedly the eponymous Alpha-Omega engine, which is a direct descendant of the distortion pedal co-developed by Jon Stockman (Karnivool) and promises variable distortion sounds. The Mod control fades between the Alpha circuit, which provides a tight, powerful drive, and the Omega circuit, which provides unbridled, brutal distortion with maximum gain. In addition, the Growl switch saturates the bass foundation on demand, whereas the Bite switch sets the high mid-range at 2.8 kHz for increased definition and assertiveness. The Blend control can be used to mix in the dry bass signal continuously to maintain pressure and thrust in the low end.
900 Watt Class D power amplifier
For maximum volume reserves and an extremely powerful sound image that pushes every note down into the pit of your stomach, the Darkglass Alpha ∙ Omega 900 is equipped with a modern Class D power amplifier that delivers a full 900 watts to the bass speakers despite its transport-friendly format. These can be safely connected to the head via two combination sockets, and thanks to the 2-Ohm mode, combinations of two 4-Ohm cabinets are possible as well.
DI-Out and headphone-out connections with speaker simulation
Furthermore the Darkglass Alpha ∙ Omega 900 features balanced pre-DI and post-DI outputs for direct pickup of the dry input signal and the processed bass sound, whereas the headphone jack allows for silent practising. The speaker simulations for both promises a particularly natural sound experience thanks to the use of Impulse Responses (IRs). These speaker simulations can be easily exchanged via the USB connection and the free DarkglassSuite.
The back of the Darkglass ∙ Alpha Omega 900 not only houses the speaker connections, but pre- and post-DI-outs as well as headphone jack, FX loop and foot switch and MIDI jacks.
Foot switch connection and MIDI
Last but not least, the extensive functions of the Darkglass Alpha ∙ Omega 900 can be controlled remotely via MIDI or foot switch. The Darkglass Intelligent Footswitch, which is already included in the scope of delivery, allows the distortion and mute function to be controlled with a single switch.
