The EpiphoneDave Mustaine Prophecy Flying V is equipped with two active Fishman Fluence humbuckers in neck and bridge position, which can be adjusted by a classic 3-way switching and a coil-split function via a push/pull tone control. Thus, this heavy electric guitar delivers a wide sound volume with three characteristic sounds: a warm vintage humbucker sound, a hot modern sound that withstands high drive pressure and finally shimmering single-coil tones.
The headstock features an Explorer "field hockey stick" headstock instead of the Flying V style.
Construction and features
The mahogany body of the Flying V is connected by a 5-ply Binding to a AAA curly maple top, which shows a striking flame grain in the Dark RedBurst high gloss finish. The set mahogany neck offers optimal shredding conditions via a 24 fret ebony fingerboard and a comfortably wide 'D' neck profile. Furthermore, the Signature axe of the Megadeth guitarist is equipped with a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge, Stopbar and Grover tuning machines in brushed aluminium look, which provide both visual highlights and tonal stability.
