The Epiphone Prophecy SG Aged Jet Black Metallic is a particularly successful modern interpretation of the classic SG design. The iconic solidbody electric guitar with the two pointed horns is made up of a mahogany body with maple top and matching curly maple veneer, while the mahogany neck evokes a classic SG feel. On the tonal side, two Fishman Fluence humbuckers provide an enormous variety of sounds, from classic tones to modern metal sounds and coil splits, while the Epiphone Prophecy SG's brushed nickel Finish hardware is extremely functional and resonant with LockTone parts and Grover tuners.
The Epiphone Prophecy SG Aged Jet Black Metallic combines classic SG design with the advantages of modern Fishman Fluence humbuckers and solid hardware with locking function.
The glued, asymmetrical "Slim Taper" neck of the Prophecy SG promises optimum playing characteristics in all positions.
Mahogany body with maple top
The Prophecy SG's classically designed body is made of mahogany and features a 0.75" (19 mm) thick solid maple top with curly maple veneer for a sophisticated visual appearance. The neck, which is attached to the body using the classic glue joint, is also made of mahogany and has a modern asymmetrical slim taper profile, which provides the right thumb rest in all positions and accommodates modern playing techniques with its slim design.
Fishman Fluence humbuckers specially designed for the Prophecy SG deliver a wide range of sounds between vintage PAF and modern metal.
Fishman Fluence Humbucker
Two Fishman Fluence humbuckers designed by US pickup specialist Fishman are used in the neck and bridge positions of the Epiphone Prophecy SG. The two rather unconventionally designed pickups have a revolutionary design that gives both pickups a much wider sound palette than conventional twin coil pickups and have two switchable modes. Vintage provides classic PAF sounds, while Modern voicing delivers all the sounds of modern metal with a tight response and clear resolution.
Grover Locking Rotomatics guarantee precise tuning and make changing strings particularly convenient.
High-quality LockTone hardware
To further promote values such as response and tightness, Epiphone relies on the popular combination of a LockTone Tune-o-Matic bridge with adjustable string saddles and lockable pins and a matching LockTone stopbar. Thanks to its firm connection to the body, the combination ensures extremely resonant transmission into the body of the Prophecy SG. In addition, six Grover Rotomatic tuners with locking function are used to make string changes as easy as possible and to ensure additional tuning stability.
