Based on the proven P-Bass design, the fretless Bass also comes with an alder body and a bolt-on maple neck with an agile playing "Modern C" profile. Indestructible Hardware in the form of a robust 4-saddle bridge, three Vintage-Style and a practical D-tuner completes the Tony Franklin Fretless Precision Bass from Fender.

To elicit the Tony Franklin SignatureBass 's signature fretless sound with singing tone development, Fender equips the classically styled Preci with a fretless ebony fingerboard, the flank of which features handy dot inlays to mark the registers. The slim "Modern C" profile of the bolt-on maple neck also promises agile playing characteristics up to the highest registers, while the alder body designed with traditional lines convinces with optimal balance on the strap and on the thigh.
The Tony Franklin PJ pickup setup with 3-way switch and traditional passive electronics promises versatile bass sounds with the typical fretless character.
Perfectly tuned PJ setup
The electrical tone conversion of the Tony Franklin Fretless Precision Bass is handled by a PJ setup developed in close cooperation with English bassists, which transfers the luxuriant sound character of the fretless fingerboard in detail to the amplifier. The Fender Tony Franklin American Split-Coil in middle position delivers the typical growly tone with rich thrust in the low mids, while the Tony Franklin Single Coil with Hex-Pole-Pieces and ceramic magnets at the bridge promises a wiry sound with enormous assertiveness. In addition to the 3-way switch for pickup selection, Fender equips the Tony Franklin Signature Fretless Bass with a volume control and a treble slider to adjust the Bass sound.
Thanks to the Hipshot D tuner, the E string of the Tony Franklin Signature Bass can be tuned to Drop-D in a flash.
