In-ear monitoring starts with the right choice of transducer technology

A single sound source directly at the ear, offers the greatest potential for a natural, punchy and highly nuanced sound experience compared to multi-way systems found in many loudspeakers and traditional IEM systems with multiple Balanced Armature drivers.

In multi-way systems, different frequency ranges of the sound sources for bass, midrange and treble frequencies at their transition lead to phase coherence problems and thus to a distorted sound image. In addition, balanced armature drivers have a significantly higher degree of distortion than a dynamic driver.

With the dynamic TrueResponse driver system, Sennheiser offers the technology to solve this problem - a broadband driver that covers the entire spectrum, enabling maximum dynamics with the lowest distortion factor. At the heart of any in-ear monitor design is the smallest element - the transducer - that makes the biggest difference, especially in the small, confined space of the ear.

Uncompromising sound precision through Sennheiser TrueResponse technology

The 7 millimetre wideband transducer covers the entire frequency spectrum from 6 Hz to 20 kHz. This eliminates the phase differences that occur in multi-way driver systems. Only this technology enables truly distortion-free sound reproduction even at maximum sound pressure levels, achieving up to 100 times less harmonic distortion than balanced-armature drivers. The sound signature of the FA 500 Custom thus enables musical reproduction in the finest nuances.

Custom housing

The FA 500 Custom are custom in-ear headphones based on the anatomical shape of the pinna and ear canal. They are made solely based on your ear impression and therefore provide the perfect sound isolation for ambient noise and excellent listening comfort, ensuring a stable but comfortable wearing experience even over long periods of time.
