Fred's Lab 's desktop device with the unusual name Töörö is a very compact synthesizer with digital oscillators and an analog filter. Thanks to the matrix control and a few shift functions, you can quickly get to the sounds you want. In total, the instrument is playable in 6-voice polyphony and has four tracks that share the voices. Each voice has two 12-bit Waveform Morphing oscillators, an additional sine modulator for Thru-Zero phase modulation, Hardsyncnoise generator and ring modulator. The sonic foundation has a nice and charismatic basic sound despite the resolution used, this is shaped with an analogue 12dB lowpass filter. Two ADSR envelopes, two LFOs and further parameters like the modulation wheel or Velocity can be assigned to any destination via the eight-entry modulation matrix. Finally, there's a 12-bit effects processor that can handle modulation effects like eg. Chorus as well as Delay. 100 memory locations are available for your own sounds, which can be organized in 10 multisets, which is especially useful for the four tracks. The full MIDI implementation will be appreciated by anyone who wants to control Töörö with a DAW or master sequencer.
