The Gibson Les Paul Tribute 2019 (Satin Cherry Burst) is a 6-string Electric Guitar which offers the authentic Les Paul vibe, highly comfortable playability and classic sounds. A Mahogany body with Maple top and Ultra-Modern Weight relief gives the instrument excellent balance, while the glued Maple neck (with Silm Taper profile) makes playing a joy. A Gibson 490R (neck) and 490T (bridge) humbuckers provide iconic sounds in the '50s style that are ideally suited for blues and rock. Last but not least the Gibson Les Paul Tribute 2019 offers the typical combination of Nashville Tune-O-Matic and Stopbar tailpieces, as well as reliable Vintage Deluxe tuners.
The main features of the Gibson Les Paul Tribute 2019 (Satin Cherry Burst) include:
Lovely vintage deluxe tuners, beautiful Gibson headstock and a tektoid nut keep everything in tune. Rosewood fretboard on a one piece c shaped maple neck, medium thickness with very smooth nitro finish that will age very well and feels incredibly comfortable, frets are low and well finished with a cryo treatment that supposedly makes them last forever without wearing down but I can’t testify to that as it’s only a week old. The paintwork and finish is flawless all over the guitar. Nice one piece mahogany body on mine with a fairly thick two piece maple cap. All the hardware and electronics feel high end. The pickups sound fantastic, they are right in the middle where I like them in terms of output, they are nice for cleans, edge of breakup and they do ac/dc style hard rock particularly well, lots of definition and character. The guitar is weight relieved so it doesn’t kill your back standing up but it still has enough weight to feel like a solid instrument, I noticed that it balances very well on your leg when you play sitting down, my other les Paul’s tend to slip backwards but this one sits just right. The complaints I’ve seen online regarding this guitar seem to be the dot inlays and lack of pickup covers. Personally I remove pickup covers from my guitars anyway as I don’t like them and the dots are a bit understated which I like. In my opinion, if the dots and lack of covers are cost cutting then they are the perfect things to cut costs on, they make no difference to playability whatsoever whereas tuners and hardware make a massive difference, the tuners and hardware on this are excellent. The case is all leather and very well padded, suitable for pub gigs but a hard case may be needed for tours.
It took me a long time to choose this guitar as I considered a bunch of others in this price range with seemingly more ‘on paper’. But now I have this guitar I feel I chose very well, it’s a beautifully made USA Gibson which sounds great and needs no upgrades with a beautiful case and gig ready hardware and set up and it can cover all based musically. I’m very happy with it. My advice would be to try one of these in store where you can and you’ll probably want to take it home.
I'm an amateur gitarist and this is my second Les Paul. My first one was stolen from it's case after a concert about 20 years ago and I was still not completely over it (on top of loosing it, it was a gift from my dad for my 18th b'day. Not cool...). I kept the flight case all these years, simply not being capable of letting go ;-)
I finally made this all good by acquiring this brand new LP Tribute. I've been playing it for hours yesterday for the first time, it sounds absolutely amazing on my Vox amp. Extremely clear sound. I tend to strum more than soloing but it reacts beautifully with both and from the bottom of the neck all the way up to the high notes (i've played with other electric gitars and generally find an imbalance there...). Of course it loves distortion as well. It's light, feels very good in my hands and OMG IT LOOKS SO F....IN HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm in love with my new toy, and i believe the value for money of this axe is really remarkable. Well done Gibson
The guitar arrived pretty quick and was packaged well enough.
The item itself looks, feels, plays and even smells great (thanks to the satin nitro finish). Don't be mistaken by the lower cost compared to other les pauls. That's exactly what you're getting here. A nice vintage feeling les paul without all the modern bells and whistles like push pull pots and locking tuning heads, yet still plays and sounds like a les paul.
The guitar looks and plays great. Arrived well packaged with confirmation of quality testing at both the Gibson factory and by the team at musicstore.de. Quick tune and the guitar plays like a dream. American made, Gibson quality is back, could not be happier with the buy.
The easiest Les Paul I've played and sounds fantastic. It's well made, looks great and the included gig bag is a fine bonus. Couldn't be happier with my purchase!
