The Pre-73 DLX MkII from GoldenAgeProject contains an advanced circuit known from the Neve1073 preamps. The unit achieves an impressive gain value of up to 80dB and features all the typical switches for phantom power, input impedance, phase reverse and groundlift. The line, mic input and output are all transformer-balanced, as is otherwise only known from much more expensive Hardware.
The MkII also has a high-pass filter with a Neve-style coil (50, 80, 160, 300 Hz, off) and a stepped pad circuit; the pad is integrated after the output transformer so that the entire circuit including the transformer can be overdriven and the signal can then be attenuated again. There is also an insert on the back for additional audio equipment, e.g. a compressor or how about a floor pedal? Further settings can be made directly on the circuit board; for example, the DI input can be switched between HI-Z and 100 kOhm or routed past the input transformer. All buttons on the front panel control the functions via relays so that the shortest possible internal signal paths are achieved.
