For the ergonomically curved body of the Ibanez Prestige AZ2204-GD Gold, Ibanez chose the classic alder wood, with wide cut cutaways and the "Super All Access Neck Joint" making even the highest positions easily accessible. But the absolute highlight of the Ibanez AZ2204-GD Gold is without a doubt the bolt-on neck made of S-Tech Wood (roasted maple). This maple wood is thermally treated in a pure nitrogen atmosphere, which makes it insensitive to climatic fluctuations and gives it excellent resonance. The medium-strong "AZ Oval C" profile fits comfortably in the hand, so that between the 22 stainless steel frets in jumbo format, every song, no matter how complex, can be played with ease. Fluorescent side dots allow easy orientation even on the darkest stages.

Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups with dyna-MIX9 circuit

For optimal sound conversion, no one less than Seymour Duncan contributes the pickups of the Ibanez Prestige AZ2204-GD Gold. The two Seymour Duncan Hyperion single coils in neck and middle position and the Seymour Duncan Hyperion humbucker placed at the bridge convince with a moderately increased output and a balanced reproduction of all frequencies, so that in connection with the lively dynamics expressive electric guitar playing is supported in the best way. The pickups are selected in familiar combinations using the 5-way blade switch, with additional options available thanks to the dyna-MIX9 circuit. After pressing the "Alter" switch, both single coils can be connected serially and all pickups can be operated simultaneously.

High quality hardware by Gotoh

Last but not least, the Ibanez Prestige AZ2204-GD Gold convinces with its first-class hardware equipment. The bridge is the Gotoh T1802 tremolo, specially designed for the Ibanez AZ series, with titanium string saddles and a solid steel block to enhance the sound. With string spacings of 10.5 mm, it also supports the ideal strumming technique. At the head plate, the strings are guided over a bone nut to the Gotoh Magnum Lock H.A.P. tuners, whose height-adjustable winding axes guarantee optimum string pressure.
