The KMA Audio Machines ABY is a practical routing tool on the pedalboard that may seem inconspicuous at first, but when used correctly it opens up unimagined sonic possibilities. The extremely useful pedal from Karl-Marx-Allee in Berlin works in both directions, allowing it to be used in a variety of different applications. For example, the KMA ABY can be used to control two different effect chains separately or simultaneously with one instrument; alternatively, two different instruments such as e.g. a guitar and a Bass can be used via the same rig. Although the signal path is completely passive and reproduces the signal unaltered, the KMA ABY uses an active relay-based Soft switching circuit to make switching between different sources as quiet as possible.
