Beads from Mutable Instruments is based on the highly acclaimed CLOUDS and, like its predecessor, is an effect module for granular audio processing. The hardware and software have been completely redesigned, so you can look forward to even better signal converters and optimized algorithms, among other things. At this point the similarities with Clouds end, because Beads is also an extremely versatile and modern wavetable oscillator and can act as a delay effect. With the new hardware, the audio buffer has also been increased, which benefits granular processing as well as longer delay times. By the way, the delay can optionally be synchronized to the external clock. Depending on the setting, formant-like sounds, reverse sounds and even noise-like sounds are also possible. Manually or by means of gate processes can be integrated to the point and thus made musically more usable. A total of six control voltage inputs, four of which have bipolar attenuators, provide optimal control over all modulations. The sound quality is adjustable in four steps and ranges from studio-quality hi-fi to jumping CD and worn-out tape.
Mutable Instruments Beads - exploration and tutorial
Adds quality effects to your modular. The price is definitely worth it. Can get lost for hours tweaking until you find the perfect sound. The different buffer quality settings are great to explore. The lofi ones are my preferred option so far. Takes a bit of practice to get your head around the controls. Reading the manual ia advised.
Excellent. For months, it did not reach top 5 in wish list as i have its predecessor Clouds already. As builder is exiting market, thought it prudent to get now.
