The Ortofon 2M Black cartridge represents the flagship of the 2M series and has been equipped with a Shibata diamond, whose slim cut ensures a large contact area with the record groove. This results in a particularly detailed reproduction that represents the entire sound spectrum of a record and thus meets the highest demands. With an output voltage of 5 mV, it offers optimum sound reproduction and sound accuracy. The bodies of the 2M series are made of Hopelex, which brings a high rigidity and prevents unwanted resonances during the output. pickup of the 2M series also features Ortofon's Split Pole Pin technology, whereby moving magnet systems achieve a frequency response that is as flat as that of moving coil pickups.
