The Shells made of high-quality Pappel wood and Asian mahogany are unified in a special SST (Super Shell Technology) and are equipped with newly designed, weight-reduced lugs, in order to guarantee an optimal resonating characteristic. The Rack-Toms receive a perfectly free-swinging mount with the new opti-loc mounting system from PEARL.

The Smokey Chrome really is a classy looking finish combined with the great pearl chrome work finishes this kit off beautifully. Im used to kits feeling much heavier than this so the longevity of the workmanship can only tell with time. I like the locking arms and the way the toms are suspended and the 20" B.D allows for great positioning of the Toms. It is a budget Kit so small things like the lack of a tension facility on the Hi Hat are to be expected. The skins delivered with the kit are bog standard but by adding better ones like the Evans Hydraulics to the toms and an Evans 360 to the B.D. really bring this kit to life. The Snare is a basic S.D. but from this layout you can build a great kit. The Cymbals supplied are the Zyldjian Zs they are OK and nothing to write home about but they are a good set to start out with. I added the 8" add on Tom with this kit and it now looks the Bees Knees.
