Rides in the Storm QSQ in detail

The QSQ from Rides In The Storm is an 8-channel step sequencer / MIDI-to-CV/Gate interface / CV generator with simple operation. The channels can be configured individually, e.g. it is also possible to output an envelope on channel 2 that is triggered by the CV/Gate track on channel 1. In sequencer mode, notes are entered in the classic way using the 16 analog-style controls. A track can have a step length of 1-64 steps, have its own timing (clock divider) and play the sequence either forwards, backwards, oscillating or randomly. In addition, Shuffle can be set and a randomizer can be used. In interface mode, the corresponding channel converts the MIDI notes arriving at the USB or MIDI input into quantized 1V/oct voltages and gate commands. This allows you to play several old synthesizers with CV/Gate control and/or patches in the modular system. When used as a CV generator, the corresponding channel generates an envelope or an LFO. The envelope can be linked to another output, which can make physically existing envelopes redundant depending on the setup. The LFO can run beat-synchronously with different divider or multiplier values and offers various waveforms. The voltage range extends from 0-10V in all operating modes; in sequencer mode, the gate length can be set variably for each step. The ability to synchronize the sequencer with other MIDI equipment also makes it a flexible sequencing center outside the Eurorack world.
