The Taylor GS Mini-e Koa Limited at a glance:
The Taylor GS Mini-e Koa Limited is excellent for use on the road thanks to its compact design. High-quality, built-in electronics enhance the instrument's functionality and grants the opportunity to adamantly this guitar has to offer. Despite its small size, the peice produces a powerful, midrange- rich sound that unfolds with rapidity and warmth. In addition, the short neck allows easy finger placement in all 20 frets, which intonate cleanly with the help of its finely crafted hardware. A thickly padded gigbag is included and protects the instrument adamantly from shocks.
Woods and Construction:
The GS Mini gets its name from its rounded shape, which corresponds to the proportions of the Taylor Grand Symphony. Despite its small stature, the electro-acoustic guitar is very heartily built. The solid sitka-spruce top enables the dynamic midrange tone mentioned earlier, while an arched, laminated body of koa enriches the basses with a warm note. At the same time, the flat sapele neck with ebony fingerboard guarantees a distinctly comfortable playing feel.
Hardware and Finish:
Chrome-plated die-cast tuners are set into the characteristic Taylor headstock, ensuring precise tuning of the 6 steel strings. In addition, a Micarta bridge inlay and a 42.8mm wide nut made of Nubone ensure very accurate intonation across the scale. The rather plain matt lacquered instrument is rounded off by a generous pickguard made of tortoise and a three-ring soundhole rosette, which is perfectly matched to the 4 mm Dot-Inlays in the fingerboard.
Electronics:
The Taylor GS Mini-e Koa Limited is equipped with a user-friendly ES-B pickup system that can be individually adjusted via a side preamp. In addition, the system includes an integrated tuner with LED display. Powered by 2 button cells ( CR 2032 ), the active pickup promises about 300 hours of playing time.
