The Taylor T5z Pro (Borrego Red) is a 6-string Electro-Acoustic Guitar which combines the best features of Electric and Acoustic Guitars in a beautiful instrument that provides the right sound for almost any genre. The T5z has a Sapele Mahogany body with generous resonance chambers, which in conjunction with the chic hookah Maple cover adds a warm Acoustic component to the sound. Attached with the innovative "T Lock" method, the screwed Sapele neck fits comfortably in the hand. The Taylor Dynamic Body Sensor picks up natural resonance, whilst 2x Taylor Samarium/Cobalt humbuckers deliver typical Electric Guitar tones, with the combination of 5-way circuitry and active pre-amp allowing for perfect tuning.
Tone Wood Selection
When designing the T5z Pro, Taylor combine the sound characteristics of the Acoustic Guitar with the handling of an Electric instrument. The Taylor T5z has a sleek Sapele body with generous resonance chambers that support the Acoustic timbre. A chic Flamed Maple top with elegantly designed F-holes completes the distinctive finish. With only one screw firmly attached, the "T Lock" neck with its slim profile and Ebony fingerboard (12" radius) fits comfortably in the hand.
Electric & Acoustic Properties
Taylor equips the T5z Pro with 2x pick-up systems alongside an active pre-amp. Here, the Dynamic Body Transducer captures the Acoustic timbre in detail, while a pair of Samarium/Cobalt pick-ups provide powerful electric sounds. Here, the 5-way blade switch in the upper frame provides access to the different circuit combinations, so that the basis for the desired sound is found quickly. In addition, an active pre-amp with 2-band tone control is available for precise adjustment of the sound pattern.
High Quality Hardware
The Taylor T5z includes high-quality hardware that significantly contributes to the striking sound character of the Guitar. Correspondingly, an Ebony Acoustic Guitar bridge is used on the body, which supports the natural sound component with a compensated bone insert. Also made of bone is the saddle behind which Taylor Die-Cast tuners provide precise and stable tuning.
