The Behringer X32 Rack is a multifunctional digital console in 19" format. It can be used as a multi-channel audio interface in the studio, as well as for live performances or theatre productions. It is the ideal companion for anyone who doesn't need the motorized faders of the other b-models, for example, because they prefer to control the console via tablet.
However, the unit does not have to hide behind the other models. The X32 Rack boasts the same extensive DSP functions and practical features. Thus, the X32 Rack also comes as a 40 channel / 25 bus mixing console. All XLR channels are equipped with the fully programmable MIDAS preamps. The FX Engine with up to eight effect busses is on board, too. The X-32 Rack even features the capacitive graphics-capable touch screen for easy operation. If you can do without motorized faders, the Behringer X32 Rack gives you the full power of the X32 digital console in a practical 19" format.
If you want to expand your Behringer X32 rack, you can do so with the Cymatic Audio Utrack X32 Recorder card. The Extension Card directly and simultaneously creates a 32-track recording of the 32 channels in the console. No additional hardware such as an external computer is required, no DAW needs to be opened, no session created, inputs and outputs assigned, tracks armed and levels monitored.
The X32 is the best sounding mixer in this price, exellent Mides Pre and AD/DA Converters, witch can be found in more expensive interfaces and converters! Awesome routing and many great features including FX Rack!
Well what can say. It ticks all the boxes, for it's price range and flexibility.
Plus it can do live or studio work, your choice!!!
I have a Midas M32, Behringher x32 and a number of p16s. I bought the X32R so I could use the X32 elsewhere and put the x32R in the stage rack where is essential provides the P16 sources for our IEM monitoring and it can also operate as our stage end system for festivals where we split the existing mics and other sources and can get set up very quickly, giving us our normal stage sound and the festival PA doesn't notice we're even connected. It works very simply - we have two scenes we can load - one for festivals with the X32R as the master and no FOH desk, and the other with the Midas FOH, and the X32R operating independently - sharing the 32 channel stage box.
Excellent features and sound quality for the price. If you're wanting to do lots of live mixing then you are better to buy a standard X32 but if you need something portable, something to supplement an existing mixer or do studio work then the Rack is for you. Control from you laptop or iPad and reasonable basic control from the front panel. The multitrack DAW allows you to do a full multitrack live recording too.
First steps into a digital Audio desk, after using analog for years.
Impressed with its ease of use so far... reliability we will have to wait and see.. so far so good.
