Cloud Microphones offers the Cloudlifter CL-Zi, a reliable helper in terms of professional preamplification. He uses the same technology on high-impedance instruments such as electric guitars, basses, acoustic guitars with piezo pickups or old electromechanical stage pianos equipped with a passive output. The easy operation makes it all the more valuable: Simply plug in the instrument or microphone via the XLR combination input (XLR/ 6.35 mm jack) and then connect the CLZi via its XLR output to the phantom-powered input of a mixing console, preamplifier or audio interface. Your signal will not only sound louder, but in many ways simply better.
In addition, a high-impedance 6.35 mm Thru output is used to send instrument signals to amplifiers. The output is buffered and can therefore simultaneously function as an XLR output without unwanted effects or sound losses from conventional DI boxes. The Cloudlifter CLZi is therefore suitable for both live performances and recording sessions, in which you can record both the direct signal and the signals from miked boxes for later mixing.
