With the DOD Carcosa Fuzz, the well-known effects manufacturer presents a versatile fuzz effect pedal for electric guitar that delivers classic fuzz tones as well as abstract avant-garde tones. In addition to the unique Before and After controls, the pedal offers a classic Hi-Cut filter, DEMHE and HALI modes, and a True Bypass footswitch.
DEMHE/HALI
The DEMHE/HALI switch allows the Carcosa Fuzz to be perfectly matched to the guitar amp being used. For example, DEMHE mode delivers a Boost of bass and low-mid that is perfect for use in front of a clean amp, while HALI activates a low-cut filter and makes the effect usable in front of an already distorting amp thanks to the increased tone definition.
Before and After
While the Before knob on the DOD Carcosa Fuzz controls the amount of distortion in the circuit, the Afterknob affects the BIAS of the circuit and determines the tone character. Accordingly, when the Before knob is turned to the left, woody tones with high volume are available. When the After knob is turned up, these tones first transition into classic fuzz realms before, when the After knob is turned to the right, "broken" tones with chaotic stuttering and vocal character reach the auditory canals in the best sense of the word.
