With the Fender American Original '60s Jazzmaster RW Ice Blue Metallic, Fender presents an authentic reissue of the very first Jazzmaster, whose ergonomic offset design caused a sensation in the Flower Power era. The nitrocellulose finish conceals an alder body and a bolted maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Two Fender Pure Vintage '65 Jazzmaster Single Coil Pickups and the typical circuit with rhythm and lead circuit provide authentic vintage sounds at the amplifier, which are not only great for classic jazz, but also wild surf and alternative rock. Last but not least, the Fender American Original '60s Jazzmaster RW Ice Blue Metallic features the Fender Vintage Floating tremolo.
For the construction of the Fender American Original '60s Jazzmaster RW Ice Blue Metallic, Fender relies on the proven offset design with original 1960s dimensions. The body, which offers great playing comfort thanks to its curved shape and large cutaway, is made of alder, while the bolt-on neck is made of maple and carries a "Round Laminated" rosewood fretboard. The combination of the 9.5 inch fretboard radius and the slim "Mid '60s C" profile also offers unrestricted playability.
The Fender American Original Jazzmaster uses two Fender Pure Vintage '65 Jazzmaster single coils as pickups. With authentic material selection and classic construction, they deliver the typical warm yet transparent Jazzmaster sound. The coil bodies are made of vulcanized fibre, while enamelled copper wire is used for the wide and flat wound coil.
Of course, the pickups of the Fender American Original '60s Jazzmaster RW Ice Blue Metallic are managed via the traditional lead and rhythm circuit. The lead circuit provides the 3-way toggle with Master Volume and Master Tone controls, allowing both pickups to be selected in the usual way. The Rhythm Circuit, on the other hand, is activated by the slide switch in the upper half of the body and provides the neck pickup with its own volume and tone controls. In this way, two different sounds can be set and recalled.
Last but not least, the Fender American Original '60s Jazzmaster electric guitar features the historically correct Fender Vintage Floating Tremolo for use. This allows pitch modulation in both directions, allowing for expressive altering of melodies and chords. From the vibrato, the strings are led over the Fender 6-Saddle Adjustable bridge. Behind the bone saddle of the headstock, Fender Pure Vintage Deluxe tuners provide precise and stable tuning.
