With vintage-correct 1960s specs, the limited-edition American Original '60s Tele features a maple-crafted neck with applied rosewood fingerboard and traditionally-wound Pure Vintage '64 Gray Bottom single coils. As a special exclusive model, the Limited Edition American Original '60s Telecaster furthermore features a refreshing Surf Green finish, double body binding and matching lacquered headstock.
Original-era Alder Body
With original dimensions, the body of the Fender American Original 60s Telecaster RW Surf Green is crafted from American alder and evokes the tried-and-true slab body feel of the early Teles. Furthermore, the body and neck are finished with a thin Finish of nitrocellulose lacquer and finished with a double body binding. This not only creates the familiar smooth handling, but also allows the enclosed wood to breathe with resonant tone.
Pure Vintage '64 Gray Bottom Single Coils
Fender's Pure Vintage '64 Gray Bottom Single Coils used as part of the American Original Series are the result of a meticulous search for historically accurate early sixties manufacturing steps. From the cloth-covered lead to the traditional enameled winding wire to the use of Alnico 5 magnets, the pickups produce the famous Fender trebles with balanced output, thanks to stepped pole pieces.
