The weight-reduced mahogany body promises comfortable handling even after long sessions, while on the set neck in the slim taper profile almost any playing technique comes off with ease. Without denying their PAF genes, Gibson 490R and 498T humbuckers also provide powerful all-round sounds between Blues and rock, with additional single coil tones available thanks to optional Coil-Split. Classic design, modern feel
The straightforward concept of the Les Paul Studio for left-handers dispenses with superfluous optical ornamentation and places particular emphasis on the typical Les Paul sound and comfortable handling. The mahogany bodywith the obligatory maple top offers a comfortable weight due to the "Ultra Modern Weight-Relief", which makes long shows and recording sessions a breeze. The narrow "Slim Taper" profile of the glued mahogany neck also promises ideal playing characteristics up to the highest positions of the rosewood fingerboard.
Split Gibson 490R and 498T humbuckers deliver a flexible sound spectrum between blues, rock and metal at the guitar amp.
Split Gibson humbucker
At the guitar amp, the Les Paul Studio Lefthand with a Gibson 490R humbucker on the neck and a Gibson 498T humbucker on the bridge delivers the right tones for almost any style of music between blues, rock and metal. The 490R neck pickup convinces as a subtly modernized Alnico II humbucker with a sound in the best PAF tradition, combining a lively response with a vocal midrange. As a hot Alnico V bridge pickup, the more powerful Gibson 498T humbucker elicits punchy overdrive and distortion sounds with high assertiveness from the guitar amp. Thanks to the option to Coil-Split via push/pull switches in the volume pots, transparent single coil sounds are also part of the repertoire of the Les Paul Studio electric guitar.
Grover Rotomatic tuners keep the Studio Les Paul securely in the correct tuning.
Traditional hardware
Last but not least, reliable hardware equipment in traditional Style completes the Gibson Les Paul Studio Wine Red Lefthand electric guitar. A lightweight aluminum stopbar tailpiece guides the strings over the aluminum NashvilleTune-O-Matic bridge, which features the adjustment features for accurate intonation and comfortable string placement. On the coveted "Open Book" headstock, Grover Rotomatic tuners also ensure precise and robust tuning of the electric guitar.
I ordered the guitar over a Bank Holiday weekend. I received it four days later. It came in a Gibson soft case and protected in two strong cardboard boxes. The guitar plays like a thoroughbred should, everything is right about it the fingerboard the sound which is changed by the tone controls and it looks great. I have Fender, Ibanez but this Gibson is becoming my favourite workhorse. Very pleased with the purchase and the price.

Beautiful guitar, but arrived with the neck bowed backwards, strings 1, 2 & 3 all buzzed when played open… adjusted the truss rod anti-clockwise by 1/2 a turn and all seems well now, but since I’m not skilled at setting up, I’m going to get it checked over by the Guitar Doctor in Penzance before being happy, regards Lee
