In addition to a historically correct wood selection and electronics that have been recreated down to the smallest detail from the era in question, this reissue features an authentic Ultra Light Aging Treatment from the Gibson Murphy Lab.
Chunky C mahogany neck with long neck foot
The key to the success of a good Les Paul Reissue lies in its basic construction, which is made up of a strong Chunky C mahogany neck with a long glued neck foot for a direct response with a long Sustain. The body, also made of mahogany, consists of one solid piece and has a two-piece maple top, which is finished with a beautiful Royalite binding. Of course, a 22-fret fretboard made of East Indian rosewood with historically correct Authentic Medium Jumbo frets should not be missing from a successful '58 reissue!

Hand-wired electronics with authentic components
The Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Washed Cherry Sunburst Ultra Light Aged comes with hand-wired electronics that skillfully reproduce the sound and response of traditional models. Two hand-wound Gibson Custom Bucker pickups are used, which follow the classic PAF recipe with their Alnico III magnets and unwaxed coils. In addition, the Treble roll-off of the tone controls is done via real CTS potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors, and Clapton's coveted 'Woman Tone' can be skillfully recreated.
