I have exhaustively tried out most portable USB audio interfaces. As a studio engineer with over 20 years experience this is the one I would recommend. It offers no frills, no retro vintage sound gimmicks. Just excellent low latency and high quality sound. I have found sound output on most audio interfaces under the £1000 category to be very coloured and sometimes bass heavy. This is not the case with the Motu M series. They offer a fantastic flat uncoloured sound output. The channel preamps offer an excellent clear signal. Powerful enough to power 4 Shure SM7b microphones. Ideal for recording acoustic instruments and vocals. The fold back recording makes this ideal for podcasting and live streaming. All in all amazing value for money. Great build quality. Makes a perfect mobile recording studio with my Asus i7 AMD PC.
