Seven-string metal guitar with Black Limba
With the Mayones Duvell BL 7, the guitar manufacturer from Gdansk, Poland, sends a first-class, seven-string metal guitar in beautiful Black Limba garb into the race. In addition to extremely smooth playing characteristics, the 7-string electric guitar convinces with the brute metal sounds of the popular Seymour Duncan Sentient/Nazgul team and an indestructible hardware equipment from Hipshot.
Custom look, brute sounds: The Mayones Duvell BL 7 comes with Black Limba body and Seymour Duncan pickups with modern voicing.
In addition to the Black Limba body, the Duvell BL 7 features a five-piece neck made of Wenge and Purpleheart.
Noble woods, agile handling
The Black Limba body of the Duvell BL 7 immediately catches the eye with its intense grain and gives the guitar an individual character. While generous shaping on the front and back promises a high level of comfort, the wide cutaways and flowing neck heel guarantee unhindered access to the high registers. The five-piece Wenge-Purpleheart neck in D-profile also conveys extremely agile playing characteristics between the 24 stainless steel frets of the ebony fingerboard.
With Sentient and Nazgul pickups from Seymour Duncan, the Duvell BL 7 delivers tight metal sounds.
Seymour Duncan Sentient and Nazgul
With the extremely popular Sentient and Nazgul humbuckers from Seymour Duncan, the Duvell BL 7 turns out to be a guarantor for modern metal sounds. With its extremely tidy low end and sharply focused mids and highs, the Nazgul humbucker on the bridge lets every note whip out of the guitar amp with precision, even with drop tunings and maximum gain. At the neck, on the other hand, the Sentient humbucker delivers surprisingly sensitive clean and overdrive sounds with lively dynamics. While the coil split via push/pull switch in the volume control enriches the sound palette with lively single-coil tones, the treble bleed circuit prevents unwanted treble loss when turning down the volume control.
Hipshot Locking tuners with open gear guarantee accurate and stable tuning of the electric guitar.
Hardware by Hipshot
Of course, the Duvell BL 7 guitar by Mayones offers an indestructible Hardware equipment that completes missions from the road with unshakable reliability. The bridge used here is the hip Hipshot hardtail strings-thru-body. Seven string saddles with generous adjustment travel guarantee optimal intonation and string action, even with thick string sets and deep tunings. Behind the GraphTech Black Tusq saddle, Hipshot locking mechanisms with open gears ensure precise and stable tuning. In addition, Schaller S-Locks hold the Duvell 7 BL securely to the guitar strap.
Never had previous experience with Mayones, but always liked the aesthetics of their guitars. Guitar came well packaged and with nice guitar bag that looks sturdy. Overall build quality is impeccable - after inspection I can say that the guitar is nothing more than flawless. Soundwise, it's flexible enough for wide range of styles and can be used for stuff ranging from nice clear sound to aggressive riffing. Hardware is top quality, guitar stays in tune and came almost ready to play as I pulled it out of the box. The Nazgul/Sentient combo fits well and is articulate.
Overall - killer guitar, built well, plays well and looks spectacular. Good job from Mayones, they have a new fan, already eyeing a Regius.
