The Origin Effects RevivalDRIVE Hot Rod Edition CUSTOM is a versatile overdrive and preamp pedal that takes the popular "amp-in-a-box" concept to the next level and delivers the most authentic sonic recreations of the finest tweaked high-gain valve amps around. The elaborate analogue circuitry features authentic replicas of the sound-determining components of a guitar amp to ensure that the feel and sound of the pedal is indistinguishable from a full-grown amp. With the "Silicon Rectifier" and "Valve Rectifier" channels, the Origin Effects RevivalDRIVE CUSTOM offers two separate sound layers with the authentic characteristics of valve or diode rectified amps. Each channel has extensive sound customization capabilities, plus a semi-parametric mid-boost, an expanded reamp EQ compared to the regular RevivalDRIVE, and three MODE DIP switches.
The basis for the outstanding and authentic sound of the Origin Effects RevivalDRIVE Hot Rod Edition CUSTOM is the elaborate, fully analogue and discrete circuitry that simulates all the sound-determining components of a guitar amp, using popular high-gain mods. Class A preamps provide a natural gain behavior, while the simulated mains voltage with selectable frequency produces the typical "ghost notes". In addition, the phase inverter, the power amplifier with reactive load for the simulation of a connected loudspeaker and the characteristic sag of the rectifiers contribute to a realistic playing feel.

Two channels and extensive sound options
With the "Valve Rectifier" and "Silicon Rectifier channels", the Origin Effects RevivalDRIVE Hot Rod Edition CUSTOM provides two distinctive sound sources with the sag and sonic characteristics of valve or diode rectifiers. Each channel has a Bright Cap and Preamp switch to set the basic sound character. At the same time, the More/Pres controls allow the determination of the negative feedback and thus the sound character in the power amp, while the Ghost pot determines the intensity of the ghost notes typical for vintage amps. The Lows control can be used for setting the bass level and a Dry control for mixing in the clean signal.
Global tone controls
Furthermore, the Origin Effects RevivalDRIVE Hot Rod Edition CUSTOM has an additional mid boost that can be assigned to each channel individually or activated using the optional RevivalDRIVE footswitch. The semi-parametric design of the boost allows you to precisely determine the character of the sound. The re-amp EQ with three selectable basic settings and controls for hi-shelf EQ and bright-capcut also allow you to match the Origin RevivalDRIVE to the guitar amp or power amp you are using, so that the sound is reproduced with no distortion. The CUSTOM version offers three additional mid frequencies each for the shelf EQ and the bright cap cut, while an additional shelving boost with selectable center frequencies and a mode switch are provided for the basic EQ 2 setting. Last but not least, three MODE DIP switches on the front of the pedal allow you to set the bypass mode, convert the "Valve Rectifier" channel to a second "Silicon Rectifier" and select the simulated mains voltage frequency to influence the ghost notes.
