Roland's System-100m, which was built from 1979 to 1984, is probably one of the best known modular systems. The manageable number of modules and especially the presence of several functions per module made it an attractive instrument for many users. Behringer transferred the classic dimensions to the compact Eurorack format and took great care to ensure that sound and function were in no way inferior to the cult object.
Module 172
combines the two classic audio effects Phaser and Delay as well as the two modulators LFO and Gate Delay. The 5-stage phaser produces a swirling and floating sound, an ideal addition, especially for lead sounds. The audio delay is based on a BBD circuit and adds a pleasant vintage character to the incoming signal. The LFO has only a triangle waveform but offers the inverted waveform at the same time so that exactly opposite modulations can easily be achieved. With the Gate Delay, switching functions but also envelopes can be inserted at a later point in time and changed in the hold time.
