The Behringer X18 is an 18-channel 12-bus mixer for iPads and other tablets. The integrated WiFi module allows remote control from all positions. Whether using the tablet in front of the stage, mixing as a front-of-house sound man, or on stage, talking down and monitoring the monitor mix for the musicians: together with the app, it's a breeze.
The extensively equipped digital sound processor (DSP) offers an extensive collection of various emulations of renowned reverbs, dynamics and multi-effects. The Real Time Analizer also guarantees a precise mapping of the sound ratios per channel. The 6 AUX paths sufficiently round off possibilities for monitoring and realize individual monitor mixes for a multi-headed band.
The high-quality MIDAS preamps guarantee low-noise signal amplification, which is audibly deserved for live sound reinforcement as well as very well during recordings. The bi-directional USB interface allows the channels to be freely routed in the DAW of the recording computer and even effects to be integrated into the DAW.

That mixer is best for my needs, amazing sound, perfect fx, flexible settings. Ability of multitrack recording is another huge plus. It has some latency, and not precision fader feeling, but that is a price for wireless connection. This mixer (or rack version) is totally best for the buck for small clubs and bends.
I've been looking for a new mixer after owning a Yamaha O3d mixer for 20 years - The behringer x 18 has really impressed me its a very well thought out piece of kit with small footprint you control it with iPhone , mac pc iPad etc - I only use this mixer in my studio and its superb in quality very flexable in operation EQ Gate Compressor and an insert on each channel -Also has 4 FX slots with lots of processors all of which are great quality - 18 in and out usb to your computer mac iPad or pc - Its took me a few days to work out how this mixer works, but now I've learnt it its turned out to be a superb piece of kit - Great flexible routing and 6 bus aux outs for sending signals to any place including outboard - i'm really enjoying using it
Tested already recording 12 inputs via USB in addition to basic live setup (2 vox, 2 guitars, bass and drums). Everything worked great out of the box. Very easy to operate. Tested with Windows, Android, iOS. Mic preamps have also good quality for recording dynamic mics, line and even phantom-required condenser mics. Haven't A/B tested between phantom and tube preamp (goldmike) side by side yet but first impression was that the preamp did not sound too cold at least when using small condenser overhead mics (matched Neumann km187). I personally prefer warm tube-like sounds with precense when recording
with consenser mics and the result was satisfying enough. Maybe when recording vocals it would be better to use more warmer preamp.
Bought for a home studio application and so far I'm very pleased with it. The sound is excellent, FX are very good. USB routing to my recording PC is a bit confusing but that's probably just me. Overall though there's been an immediate and big step up in in the quality of my recordings. Recommended.
