Four-string bass guitar with crackle finish, Seymour Duncan pickups and passive electronics
The ESP LTD Surveyor '87 Rainbow Crackle is a faithful reissue of the Surveyor Bass from 1987, the year in which the line-up of the Japanese company took off in the rock and metal scene. Just like in the middle of the Wild '80s, the four-string comes in an extremely eye-catching crackle finish that makes it an eye-catcher on any stage. Besides the classically styled alder body, the bass guitar has a pleasantly playable maple neck. At the bass amp, the passive PJ pickup setup by Seymour Duncan provides powerful and varied Bass sounds. A high-quality Gotoh bridge and Vintage-Style tuners complete the LTD Surveyor '87 Rainbow Crackle Bass by ESP.
The ESP LTD Surveyor '87 Rainbow Crackle delivers punchy bass tones with Seymour Duncan pickups and a traditional passive circuit.

Seymour Duncan pickups, high-quality hardware
At the bass amp, the Surveyor '87 turns out to be a true all-rounder for first-class rock and metal sounds thanks to the Seymour Duncan PJ pickup setup. While the Seymour Duncan Vintage P-Bass Split-Coil in middle position delivers growling low-mids and extreme punch in the low-end, the Seymour Duncan Vintage Jazz Single-Coil placed close to the bridge delivers wiry tones with high assertiveness. The Bass pickups are controlled passively via volume control, blend pot and treble control. The solidly built Gotoh 201B-4 bass bridge also guarantees the exact adjustment of intonation and string position.
Absolutely superb bass, impressive straight out of the box & even better with a bit of a set-up. Very good looking (I got it as I really miss a 2004 black/rosewood Precision I sold a long time ago) and it ranks right up there. Hardware very solid, pickups superb (surprisingly bright & aggressive).
Very much recommended, & not just for metallers!
