20 watt full tube guitar top with two channels and power soak
With the Engl E606 Ironball Head, the amplifier manufacturer from Tittmoning, Bavaria, presents a compact guitar amplifier in full tube design, which is equally suitable for use on stage and in recording studios. Accordingly, the top has two channels with common 3-band tone control and switchable gain boost, which cover the entire spectrum between crystal-clear clean and brute heavy metal. The integrated reverb effect adds a three-dimensional dimension to the sound, while additional effect devices can be looped in via the serial effect path. The power amplifier of the Engl Ironball draws a maximum of 20 watts from two EL84 tubes, which can be reduced to 5 watts or one watt with the integrated Power Soak. In addition, a load resistor can be switched on, which enables silent recording operation without connected loudspeakers. For this purpose, a balanced line out with speaker simulation is also available, which can be found on the headphone jack.
