I wanted to try a Koa acoustic, and since I already have a Fame Mahogany Jumbo, I opted for this one. I didnt really like all the flowery stuff on the fingerboard of the "deluxe" model, and this one seemed more than right for the money. The solid Koa top rings with lots of sustain and beautiful harmonics. And it's just enamoring to look at! The arm rest (made of beautiful paddouck) is also a fantastic and beautiful feature. This guitar is great for fingerstyle and alternate tunings, if you're like me. The neck is not cumbersome, but it is a pronounced "C", beware. The action came greatly set up. Now some of the cons: the entire guitar is a beautiful high gloss, EXCEPT the middle part of the neck. Quite strange - look and feel - and I got no explanation from no sales rep (they were not aware of this). I used some detailer to even out on both ends. Also, the wood cover on the headstock covers NOTHING. It's just screwed on there. There is no hole behind it even! No 2way truss rod like some electrics. Very strange. The truss rod is reachable thru the sound hole. Besides these two small manufacturing flaws (I have pics for anyone interested), the guitar brings installed a Fishman (like many Fames), and is definetely a keeper. They did send me (free of charge) a simple humidifier, but not enought IMO to explain those two odd things.
