The surprisingly modern styled "1959 D" neck profile with just 20.6 mm of wood under the first fret and the flatter 9.5" fingerboard radius (241 mm) also promises ideal playing characteristics for the classic and modern techniques of Blues and rock.

For pickup control, the FenderCustom store relies on the Vintage Modified #2 Wiring with ToneSaver Treble Ble ed and Greasebucket Tone Circuit. While the Treble Bleed on the Volume knob prevents unwanted treble loss when reducing the Guitar Volume, the Greasebucket Circuit ensures particularly smooth treble roll-offs without the tone becoming muddy due to overemphasis of the low frequencies.
